Conor McGregor has accepted a fight via tweet reading, simply "I accept!".
The tweet comes as various news outlets report Tony Ferguson's recent willingness to fight the Irishman in the UFC's lightweight division.
Further strengthened by Dana White's insistence that Conor McGregor Vs Khabib is "the fight to make". His re-ranking in the lightweight division gives every indication that McGregor's next fight will be Tony Ferguson (with Fight Island's two-time successor Khamzat Chimaev's eagerness left in the weltwerweight division).
It makes for an interesting scenario as talk of Georges Saint-Pierre resurfacing to fight Khabib, who himself makes mention to retire with a 30-0 record in mind.
For the fan service, given it's McGregor, it might be entirely likely we seen Conor back in the octagon against Khabib - if, he can beat Tony Ferguson... in the event he's fighting Tony Ferguson. Stay tuned.
