As the run up to 214 continues, Jorge Masvidal is revelling in his recognition for two massive knockouts by talking to the cameras.
There must be a hell of a buzz at this weekend's event - there's big names to show up for, and Masvidal makes note of that as he absolutely rips into Leon Edwards at 1:30 in the video. Gamebred tears him apart, and he's not wrong - Leon Edwards has been around long enough and isn't a needle mover at all. The same phrase was used at a time for Nate Diaz by Dana White, but still, I can't remember a single Leon Edwards fight.
The presence of high profile fighters on the card means there's a lot in tow for how things go down; the Diaz - McGregor fights feels principal, but a Diaz Vs Mavidal bout would be next ting.
Masvidal and Diaz are fighters at their core - they want to fight, they both move forward - simply put, they're game as fuck. Who needs reminding that Masvidal lit Leon Edwards up backstage after his knockout on Till; coining the term "3 piece and a soda" - these are pretty real guys who'll go at each other.
That's not to say the lead up to such a fight couldn't be completely respectful and dignified (Diaz choosing to sidestep a lot of media opportunities this week), but these are two guys who can and will make it ugly in the octagon and on the mic. If that fight gets made (don't hold your breath), it could lead to some solid banter, and has all the potential to be a historic UFC scrap.
